FutureSky Aerial Technologies was founded with a vision to revolutionize drone training and services. Our journey began in 2023 when Dan Singley initiated a drone program for a local emergency management volunteer service group. Recognizing the potential of drones in search and rescue operations, the team developed a comprehensive training program to equip volunteers with the skills needed for effective utilization of drones.
In early 2024, Ron Henson joined the drone training program, bringing with them additional knowledge and experience. Under their guidance, the training program was redesigned (mostly Dan) to align with FAA pilot guidelines for airplanes. This innovative approach allows pilots to be rated on airframes and skills, rather than merely passing the FAA 107 certificate.
During one of our classes, a student posed a thought-provoking question: "What happens after we pass our 107; do we just wait until we are deployed?" This sparked the idea to form FutureSky Aerial Technologies. We meticulously reviewed courses offered globally and developed a training program that goes beyond teaching pilots to pass their 107. Our program emphasizes flight characteristics and the full capabilities of drones, ensuring safe operations when collaborating with partnering agencies.
In 2025, FutureSky was officially launched. We acquired additional drones and equipment to expand our training services to outside agencies and provide commercial services to the community. Since our inception, FutureSky has grown exponentially, teaching local police and fire departments how to create and manage their own drone programs.
